The wonderful, innocent World of Disney…eh?! A component of Disney movies that receives attention outside of the story or animation is the hidden sexual messages. This video quickly looks at the hidden sexual messages of Aladdin, The Lion’s King, The Rescuers, Tangled, and The Little Mermaid.
Noting there are hidden sexual messages (topless women in the background of shots, subtle penises in the landscape, or the word ‘sex’ spelled throughout the screen) only gives credence to the argument sex is and will always be around media.
One would not typically think of Disney as a risque/sexy source, however, the use of controversial images demonstrates exactly how pervasive the concept of sex is to society.
